"I am a Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Employee, and twice Cancer SURVIVOR. My Mission is to inspire, encourage, motivate and promote self-awareness that will lead to transformation in one’s life. I want to help empower people to find their own solutions and discover one’s potential to live an abundant life."
Carmen is an Inspirational Life Coach. She is also Certified Law of Attraction Coach from Quantum Success Coaching Academy, as well as a Meditation Guide and Natural Healer.
"I am a Senior at UIUC, majoring in Economics with minors in Political Science and Spanish. Since I was young, I have been heavily involved in activism; my first protest was against the Iraq War. Since then, I have participated in the Occupy Wall Street movement and the Women's March, marched against family separation, and protested for racial justice every Friday night. I am also the co-founder of the UIUC chapter of Chicago Area Peace Action (CAPA UIUC), an organization dedicated to peacebuilding and environmental justice. Ultimately, I am looking to pursue a career in conflict resolution, and am currently writing a book titled 'Peacebuilding, an Idea Whose Time Has Come' to urge young people to get involved in the peace movement."

Jennifer (Jen) O'Grady, life-long Chicagoan, was raised on the northwest side about a mile from Anne's Haven. She enjoyed a twenty-year career in non-profit serving in various roles from Director of Volunteer services to Program Director.
She is now the founder and coach at A Life All In, where she engages in one-on-one coaching with clients and facilitates a group for women called The WELL: Women Engaged in Life. She loves walking, good conversations over good food and...office supplies (a little obsessed with pens).

Janet is founder of Anne's Haven and daughter of Anne McNicholas-Giangrasse, whom Anne's Haven was built in memory of. She grew up in Villa Park, Illinois, studied theatre in London, worked in New York City, moved to Italy, and then returned to Chicago. There she had her son, spent time with family, found financial stability with bookkeeping, and fed her soul with Anne's Haven.
"Anne's Haven is a tribute to my very dear mother and all women. We do so much for those around us, often having nothing left to give to ourselves. Anne's is for us. A safe place to create opportunities, grow friendships, learn skills...sit with our thoughts. Anne's is there for whatever we need it for."
George Borovik has worked for the Portage Park Chamber of Commerce (PPCC) for the past 21 years, and has been the executive director since 2002. The Chamber serves the communities of Portage Park, Irving Park and Dunning, providing promotional support and technical assistance to local businesses and non-profit organizations.
George first met Janet Giangrasse, the founder of Anne’s Haven, when she was first looking for a storefront space in Portage Park. Janet has generously offered the use of Anne’s Haven for PPCC meetings and monthly networking events. She has also been one of the Chamber’s biggest supporters over the past five years.
